Hajime entered a boarding school right when his father remarried. Despite the distance, he maintained a good relationship with his stepmother, Meguri, and secretly harbored a longing for her that he kept buried in his heart. Then, his student life came to an end, and it was graduation day. Walking toward him from across the road with a smile was Meguri. As if seeing through Hajime's smoldering secret feelings for her, she gave him a gentle kiss, saying, "A graduation gift from your stepmother..." And so, the boy climbed another step on the stairs to adulthood.
