A man named Shimoyama, a teacher, wandered into the izakaya "Amayadori," a place that captures the hearts and stomachs of salarymen. It has been a while since his first visit. His passionate gaze is directed not at the food, but secretly at the landlady, Ririko. However, Shimoyama became discouraged after learning that Ririko is married. After drinking heavily to drown his sorrows, he accidentally fell asleep. When he woke up, he found Ririko smiling at him in the dim light of the shop, sitting right beside him, saying, "Oh, you're awake..."
